What this covers
This page explains how Fiji Advance uses text messages, what you agree to when you give us a mobile number, and how to stop the messages. It applies to any number you give us on this site, on an application, or over the phone.
Read it together with our Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. If you have not given us a phone number, nothing on this page applies to you.
The two kinds of message we send
There are two, and you agree to them separately. One is about your file. The other is marketing, and it is optional.
Messages about your file. The consent on our forms reads:
I authorize Fiji Advance to contact me at the phone number and email address I have provided about this application and my file, including by phone call and text message. Message and data rates may apply.
These are messages about an application you started or an advance you already have with us: a question about a document, a status update, a time to talk, an answer to something you sent us. They are part of doing business with us, and there is no way for us to work your file without being able to reach you.
Marketing messages. The optional checkbox on our forms reads:
I agree to receive marketing calls and text messages from Fiji Advance at the mobile number I provided, including messages sent using an automatic telephone dialing system or an artificial or prerecorded voice. I am not required to agree to this as a condition of receiving funding or any other product or service. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.
Marketing consent is optional. The box is not checked for you, the form submits without it, and it is not a condition of receiving funding or any other product or service. Leaving it alone has no effect on your application or on what we offer you.
Message frequency
Message frequency varies. Messages about your file follow what is happening with it, so there is no set number: a week when we are underwriting your file produces more of them than a quiet week does.
Marketing message frequency also varies, and you can stop those without stopping anything else. See section 5.
Message and data rates
Message and data rates may apply. Fiji Advance does not charge you for text messages. Whatever your mobile carrier charges for messages and data is between you and your carrier, and it applies to messages you send us as well as messages we send you.
If you are not sure what your plan covers, ask your carrier before you reply.
How to stop, and how to get help
Reply STOP to any message from us and we will stop texting that number. You will get one confirmation message, and after that the texts stop. STOP applies to the mobile number you send it from, so if you have given us more than one number, send it from each one.
Reply HELP to any message and you will get a reply with our contact information. You can also call (917) 816-3602 or email admin@fijiadvance.com and ask us to take a number off, and a person will do it.
Stopping text messages does not close your application and does not end an advance. If we still need something from you, we will call or email instead. If you want to stop marketing texts but keep getting messages about your file, tell us by phone or email and we will set it up that way.
Supported carriers
Our messages are supported on the major United States wireless carriers, including AT&T, Verizon Wireless, T-Mobile, US Cellular, Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile, along with many smaller carriers.
Wireless carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your device, so treat a text as a convenience rather than as proof that we reached you. Anything that matters to your file is also sent by email or said on the phone.
Privacy
Your mobile number and your consent to be texted are not sold, and they are not shared with anyone else for their own marketing. The service providers that carry our messages handle your number only to deliver them for us.
What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it and who processes it on our behalf is set out in the Privacy Policy. Text messages are not a secure channel, so do not send bank account numbers, a Social Security number or images of identification by text.
